Jean-Pierre Constant joined the GEDB team in October 2024, as part of the Biosphere Finance theme, where he looks at the relationships between financial systems and Earth system dynamics. His current focus is on developing quantitative skills that would enable financial institutions to more accurately assess their biodiversity impacts and risks.

With an extensive education in sustainability, programming, finance, and economics, Jean-Pierre has worked in the Swiss financial industry, where he quantified the biodiversity footprint of equities portfolios at a financial institution. He earned a MSc in Sustainable Management and Technology from EPFL (École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne), with a thesis focused on the assessment of biodiversity impacts and risks in investment portfolios. Jean-Pierre also holds a BSc in Economics from HEC Lausanne.
